Agartala, Apr 16: Vocal campaigns for West Tripura Lok Sabha seat and Ramnagar by-polls will come to an end at 5 pm on Tuesday.
Chief Electoral Officer, Tripura Puneet Agarwal in a press conference said that no political party would be allowed to hold poll campaigns including road shows or public meetings after 5 pm of Tuesday.
He assured that various initiatives have been taken to ensure participation of maximum voters in the festival of democracy.
According to the CEO, the voters have been asked to move to their respective areas and the AROs have been asked to ensure it.
“Every polling station will have central forces, drinking water, electricity and toilet facilities for the convenience of the voters. Besides, webcasting will be there in every polling station,” the CEO told reporters at the conference hall of the Secretariat.
He also said, any kind of exit poll would not be restricted with effect from 7 am of April 19 to 6 pm of June 1.
Under the West Tripura Parliamentary Constituency, the total number of postal ballots is 12,800 and maximum ballots have already been polled. The postal ballot voting would come to an end on Wednesday, he said.
The CEO said, a total of 62 complaints have so far been received through various channels. Among them, prompt actions have already been taken to address 59 complaints. Besides, action has been taken against 13 government employees for violation of model code of conduct and dereliction of duty.
Addl. CEOs- Subhashis Bandopadhyay and Usha Jen mog were also present in the press conference.
